Jia, thank you for this. I’ve used your TED Talk on rejection in my psychology classes for many years. I’ve always appreciated not just the message, but your openness and willingness to actually live it.
And this email came at a really timely moment for me. I’m in the process of writing a book myself, and hearing about your experience with the launch helped give me a little more perspective on the whole process. Really appreciate you sharing it.
I love this super long breakdown. And I had NO IDEA that the Rejection Proof book came BEFORE the Ted Talk. I thought maybe you landed the book deal on the back of the talk. Incredible story.
Why not do another smashing Ted Talk about Easy Discipline?
Also I pre-ordered the book a week before I realized how to add my name to the wall. I KNOW 💯 that there were other supporters like me. We were with you at the start too.
Can’t wait to see this book and this movement’s journey going forward.

As someone who is launching a new program in 14 days with warm leads but no sign-ups this was very helpful! Feeling less discouraged and it's time for my final push! Thanks Jia.
Thank you for sharing openly your journey. I think “the numbers” will never truly portray the impact your writings have had on the lives of people. So, maybe remembering that will help in an altruistic way when “the numbers” may disappoint.

Discovered your blog when I listened to you on the HerMoney podcast - one of my favourites. I would love to know how you managed to sell so many copies for "Rejection Proof", despite the poor response at the book launch - perhaps a blog post of its own. Lovely to hear your story and project!
