It’s unbelievable that we are officially three-quarters through 2023. It’s CRAZY! How has your year been? Have you accomplished your goals? Are you still keeping your New Year’s Resolutions? Do you even remember what they were?
You have 52 weeks in one year. And if you have 50 years of productive life, that’s 2,600 weeks in total. You can use them or waste them. They don’t stop, and they certainly don’t wait for you. Once it’s gone, it’s gone for good.
The good news is, starting this Sunday, 10/1/2023, it will officially be the home stretch. You will have 13 full weeks to finish up the year strong.
For me:
Here is how I am choosing to finish my year strong.
Objectives:
Finishing the first half of my new book
Writing one article per week for my newsletter - Goal Getter
Launching my new secret podcast with 5 episodes
Continue to be a good husband and father, and never lose my cool
Now, these are the objectives - the outcomes I want to achieve. But here is where the rubber meets the road. To accomplish them, I can’t just dream. I can’t just wish. I’ve got to take action. So, I am setting these One Action Goals for the next 3 months:
One Action Goals (OAGs) for the next 90 days:
Writing/creating for 200 hours
Getting up by 6 AM for a morning routine for 60 days
Staying cool, calm, and collected with my family for 77 days
That’s it!
OAG #1 directly feeds into my objectives #1, #2, and #3.
OAG #2 is a supporting OAG. By getting up early and going through a routine, I can make my morning much more productive, which helps with my OAG #1.
OAG #3 not only directly feeds into objective #4 but has also been a family saver for me. Every time I set this goal, I can fully master my emotions and become a better husband and father. My family tells me this every day.
You can see my tracking here.
For you:
If you want to follow my One Action Goal philosophy and finish the year strong by taking action, here is what you can do:
Whatever objectives (your desired outcomes) you want to accomplish, write them down. And share with me (in email or, preferably, comments)
Then, develop the One Action Goals (OAG) you want toward your objectives. If you share your objectives with me in step #1, I can suggest the OAGs to help you reach them.
Follow and track your OAGs religiously every day. If you want to do it with me, join the DareMe community. My team and I will guide you, hold you accountable, and track your progress.
By doing this, you will start mastering your time, effort, and emotions. Your objectives will no longer be imagination you hope to realize but destiny you will meet.
Now, no matter what you want to accomplish and what kind of goal-setting tools you wish to use, do it! Have a plan! Don’t let the last three months go to waste. Remember, life is all about choices. You can grab the last quarter of 2023 by the horn and sprint to a finish. Or you can let the Great Randomness grab you by the balls and throw you into the abyss.
New month, new goals! Let’s do it!
Cool philosophy!
